THE COMPLIANCE MAP · AUSTRALIAN HOSPITALITY

Trackable-Auditable-Defendable

Every regulator has a question for your venue. The answer is in the Sauce.

See which SaucedIt modules manage the compliance requirements affecting your venue. Pick your state and the map redraws for the regulators you actually answer to.

Trusted by innovative companies and ambitious founders

Pick your state

Five regulators are Commonwealth and ask the same question in Perth as in Parramatta. Five change the moment you cross a border.

Who asks, and under what law

Regulator marks are original illustrations drawn for this map. They are not official agency logos and imply no endorsement by any regulator.

Regulators are named by their operating name and principal Act rather than their parent department, because departments get restructured and regulator names do not. Positions verified against Commonwealth and state government sources as at August 2026. Obligations vary by venue type, licence and headcount, and this map is a product overview rather than legal advice.

What changes in New South Wales

RSA and RCG are government-issued competency cards that expire every 5 years

Staff hold portable cards renewed through a Liquor & Gaming NSW refresher, not a fresh RTO course. That is a per-employee expiry clock the venue has to track.

Venues over 20 gaming machine entitlements need a Responsible Gambling Officer

Introduced 1 July 2024, with more than one required above 100 entitlements. Each RGO holds Advanced RCG, a qualification with no equivalent in any other state.

No labour hire licensing scheme

Unlike Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT, a NSW venue has no host-side duty to verify an agency's licence.
